lola keeps trying to fight with charlie when he is eating she doesnt hurt him but i have been thinking about separating them and i dont like that idea so if anyone has any ideas about this i would really like to know as i always thaught the male was supposed to be the dominant one xxx
Not in budgies! lol, female budgies seem to be very bossy when they want to be. I wouldn't separate your budgies. Just be sure that there are 2 food dishes, 2 water dishes, etc....that way at least if the male gets pushed away from one seed dish he can always go to another. :)

I can certainly attest to what Bea said, even though my boy and girl budgies have their own cages. It's when they come out for playtime that having more than one food cup keeps my budgies in check.
Skyla, my girl and Kiwi & Aries, my boys always get their own food cups during their playtime out of their cages, otherwise a fight will ensue! Skyla seems to like to push Kiwi and Aries out of the way (literally!) and beak at whomever dared step on her turf. She'd also make a squealy sound to cue the boys to move away so she could eat.
I highly recommend offering two food cups and two water cups so your little girlie budgie won't be such a fight-provoker! (At least not over food!).
