;) My budgies are too concerned with chit-chatting with each other and to the television. I guess that is what happens when you got more than 1 budgie! I still love them to smithereeens though.

My Nana + Grandad have a blue and yellow budgie called Billy. He is gorgeous and so tame! I love him to bits! He can lots of things including "Where's Tommy?" (My Uncle!), "Packet of Crisps for Billy Boy and Toast for Berty Boy" (Bert's my late Budgie) and "Billy's a bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad boy!" (He gets really carried away going through the bad's! Sometimes he missies out the "boy"! Lol!)
He is a really amazing bird! I never believed my Nana when she said she was gonna teach him to talk! Lol.

i got my past bird, Mr. Peepers to tak. he would say "bird bird birdy!" and "miser peepers"- exactly how he said it, and he did the wolf whistle too. my current birds imitate my imitation of their chirps, and do these soft quiet chirps.

Our bird Kiwi used to talk until we got a second bird.We didn't really try to teach her to talk, just spoke to her everyday. After having her for maybe 6 months she started saying Kiwi, pretty bird, hello and doing the wolf whistle as well. She doesn't do any of this now,but she does imitate the chickadees we have around our yard.

It is getting them to say the very first word that takes the longest. Start off with a simple word or phrase like...Pretty Birdy..or...Hello. Try to this at a time went the budgie is relaxed. Say the word of phrase over and over for about ten minutes at a time. Do this several times a day. After you do this give your budgie some quiet time. Listen to his quiet chattering and will hear that he is practicing his words. I have had both males and females that have talked.
Good luck. Dotty :)

Snowy says "pretty boy", "snowy", and I think he's starting to say "good boy". :)

Alfie now says 'Alfie' and 'Hello'. The first word is the most time consuming. 3 months its taken me to teach him 'Alfie' but only three days to say hello (this was his second word)
I haven't been able to teach any of my budgies to talk, but I'm still trying with Pippin'. 'Bout to give up though.

Seriously dont give up on it yet.
My keets mostly repeat the kissing sounds I make to them. But Baby the daddy of them all. Picked up a phase I use to say alot when I played a lot of Resident Evil. I fell out of my chair the first time i heard him say "OH S#*T!". And he said it as clear as crystal. So becareful what you say around your bird.s LOL
Star is attempting to talk. She is trying very hard but sadly, nothing but a chirp comes out. She gets frustrated(I think) and stops trying then trys agian after about 20 minutes. I want her to say "Hello" or something along the lines of "Good morning" but it's not working to well.:(
One thing I do know, from teaching my Parrots, is that it's best (for the first word) to firmly, decide on a word, and stick to that word, no other, until the baby learns it. :)
