Will Alfie be speaking soon?

Alfie can almost say his name. I have now heard him a number of times this last week, while on my finger try to say Alfie in a chirping noise. He has done this a few times but today he really tried to say his name in that weird throat noise. Does any experienced budgie owners know how long from this stage it took there budgie to speak?
