Picked up a new budgie today because it (not sure of gender) looked pretty unique. What drew me to it was mostly the colour, but also the fact that it didn't go crazy whenever I had to go into the cage to feed all of the budgies... I figure calm is a good thing. ;)

Anyway! It is mostly yellow... its chest looks like it has patches of blue, but it's hard to really see... and the oddest part... is its tail is green. That's hard to show in the pictures as well, but it's definitely green.

I'm confused. :D

Mmkay, gonna make a guess at my own post. ^^; I looked up some pictures of different mutations. It looks like a lot of yellowface type IIs have a combination of green and blue, guess it's normal. I've never seen it, but I like the look of it. :o

Also think its a dilute. For sure... really light markings and body colour.

And some kind of pied. Dominant pied? There are lots of clear feathers on the wings (too many to be a clearflight pied?), and too many stripes on the head to be a recessive. And its got a patch of clear feathers on the back of its head, too, not directly on the back like I see on most dominant pieds, though.

So.

Yellowface (type II), dilute, dominant pied?
