hello,

my new hand reared budgie is starting to be a lot more playful and explorative in its cage now, which is soo exciting and sweet.

however, 2 days ago i was able to take him out of his cage etc and he wouldnt run away ... but today, he's starting to avoid me and not want to come outside to play. im afraid he's going to stop liking being handled and will become untame. im also afraid that this might provoke him to bite.... he currently does not bite.

what do i do to get him to trust me more, and enjoy coming outside of his cage. wen he's out, he just wants to go back into his cage.........

He just needs to get use to you, give him treats like bits of millet :) and it will make him want to come to you plus he learns then that your not trying to harm him :)

he will not eat millet or those seed honey bell things.... i think he finds it hard to get the seeds of it, and hence just goes to the seeds in the container thing for eating...

Try just putting it there so he can try it and see how good it is first. Maybe watch him eat it at first and then in a few days try with your hand. He shouldn't be too scared of your hand if he's hand reared.
