Looking back at the last week and half...

Hi, this is probably just random babbling that no one will be interested in, but it's amazing what happens in one week! I made a post about 1.5 weeks ago detailing my new purchase of two baby budgies (which one of the members on this board has judged to be about 5-6 weeks old). They are voracious little piggies and always constantly looking for food, even though I give them a generous 2 tsp of seed per bird (I've got an order of Harrison's Bird pellets coming in the mail--expensive, but they'll have something healthier to eat than seed). Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth are their names, and so far, I haven't figured out their exact sex yet--my guess is they're not old enough to reveal that. Their tails have grown at least one inch in the last week! Wow. Is it normal for the little babies to grow so quickly? They even look bigger. Elizabeth has so much more personality--every time I open the cage--she climbs up the bar and runs out the gate to hop on my finger! And Mr. Darcy is so sweet, he'll sit on my knee for hours. Mr. Darcy's tail was pretty blue when I got him, but this long beautiful blue feather has grown out now.

I know this isn't a budgie picture, but this is the stand next to where I got my budgies at the bird fair. This red bird was one of the most gorgeous things I'd ever seen!

The "red bird" is called an electus but anyways your budgies are sooooooooooo cute!My pair never had a green baby?

Your babies are growing up fast. This is normal for young birds, not to worry. They have to be able to fend for themselves at a very young age. Have fun!!!

Awww! Sometimes I wish they wouldn't grow so fast and stay small just a little longer. But I know I'll love them just as much when they're grown-up.
