Favorite Colors

What are your favorite colors of budgies and why?

I like the white/blue budgies the best. We've had three of them so I've grown to like them the best.

I love violet and wanted to get one but then when I saw Kiki I ended up loving her coloring. I am not sure what she is, infact the vet said she was her own color mutation. :p

I've always loved the violet Budgies. I'm currently trying to breed yellow-faced violets. You should see one of my Green Spangles. A male. He has given me several beautiful offspring but, alas, they are green too. (Of course.) I plan to breed him and his offspring to cobalts and, then, breed their babies back to cobalts and/or violets in hopes of having some cobalt splits. Several year's work. Fun, though.

I think I figured out Kiki's color mutation! I saw a picture of a budgie that looks like her and it said this budgie was a "Yellowface Type I Dilute Skyblue Recessive Pied."

Yep! That's what i was going to say too! Although after her first moult you may find the the yellow spreads through the blue making her a yellow face type 2 rather than one.:) My favourite colours are pieds (recessive or dominant) and cobalt spangles just like Blinkie.:)

Billy, as I have just found out from Bea is a yellowface type 2 skyblue greywing!

And Lily of course is an Albino. Are there differnt types of albino? If so what is Lily?

I like blue and white budgies but I also like Albinos,Opalines,Spangles,and lutinos:) I hate green ones srry people who have green ones....:(

i love both of mine, zero's a yellowface type 2 skyblue greywing, the same as amy's billy. i'm not sure how you'd describe beaky, she's a really bright yellowy green with a bright yellow head + wings with the same greeny coloured markings on them. i havent seen that type of colouring before! the colours dont come out v well in my photos but shes v pretty!! ooh + she has adorable little pale bluey white patches on her cheeks :)

i dont really no! he just looks the same, so i guessed he was!! i dont really know about these things :o

I don't think he's skyblue.... and he might not be Type 2, but lets just wait for Bea!

ok, ive tried to get a better pic of him so u can see! the colours still dont come out as bright as he actually is, his back + the bottom part of his belly are actually really dark, but as i said i dont really know about these things!!

He looks diferent than a Yellow Face Type 2 Skyblue Greywing, his body colouring is more green and his head more pale. His wings look a bit different as well.

I love violets and blues, thats one reason I love my Charlie and Billy!

My new baby's parents are albino(mom) and yellow and green(dad). Baby Dinky is a beautiful bright yellow fading to very pale (almost white) on the wing tips and tail, and white patches on the cheeks. I don't know if he will change as he gets older? He's about 5 weeks. Also, I had heard albinos are infertile. Apparently this is a myth. Maybe only some? Don't know but Dinky is living proof. :)
