As i only just purchased Magic a couple of days ago, i thought i would look into joining a Hamster Forum.
I joined one, but i feel like im the only member! There are loads of threads unanswered, that were posted weeks ago. There are also lots of Introductions, that are left unanswered.
It says at the top of www.hamstery.com that there are 1,500 members, where did they all go then? Also im not allowed to access a Member's List as the administraitor has taken it off the website. It's rubbish. :(
There are alot of people who need help and advice with their hamsters but noone has replied, i posted 5 posts last night to people who were in need of desperate advice. Should i just leave the forum? :S

It sometimes takes a while to find a good forum. :) It took me a few tries to find an active betta forum.

I've kept hamsters. And many other small critters. Maybe I can help.
Ugh, I hate it when that happens. It may look like a good forum but if it's not just leave. Maybe keep checking back to see if it's updated and more active? Don't delete your account but just stay away for a while then when its more active join in.

Our local Bird Assoc. has a Board - but almost no one is posting. It's crazy because I know a lot of Bird Club members & rescue people are affiliated. Perhaps they all chat live at meetings! :S
So I've been trying to contact the people I’m familiar with, on another bird board, those from my area, to jump in & make it livelier. I love all the international flavour  but I also think the locals, for a local Board should participate. I'm a little shy to bother anyone else anyways. :o But perhaps the problem is a lack of international input? (Thinking on my feet here …)
If you liked the Hamster forum, maybe it’s your turn to carry the torch - so to speak. I haven't been here more than days so I'm not aware of the busiest members, but I'm sure all boards have them & they're what give the forums energy & intelligence.
I'd see if you can't re-energize that Board. If it fails at least you tried. :D

That was one of the first things I noticed on the local bird board ;) - but at least the monitor posted me back. Then I saw his post that he was discouraged & thinking of closing the board. Well that just upset me. Although I am on a really large & lively American Bird Board + this one, i wanted our local one to flurish.
Canadians get a complex sometimes when everything turns American.

Any idea how long that forum has been around? I wouldn't give up just yet. They need people like you to liven things up and provide advice. Give it some time and see if things turn around.:p

Hope the new forum you found turns out to be a good one. It is great when you can chat with other people who share the same interest. I just love reading all the stories about everyone's budgie. Also getting to look at the pictures of the budgies...who could ask for more. LOL :budgie:
