Hi! These are my new babies, which I just acquired at a local bird fair this past Sunday. Aren't they adorable? I think they're about 4-6 months, can't be sure, but I know they're still very young. One of them still has a bit of her baby down. Their names are Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy, although i may have to rename Elizabeth if her cere turns blue. :-P

They look like they're only 4-5 weeks. :S Are they eating seed?

I agree too they look so very young...I wouldn't think they were more then two months old. They look so sweet, much luck and enjoyment with your new budgies.

I'm just worried that they're TOO young to be away from their parents. :( 6-7 weeks is the average and those two definitely don't look that old.

Yes, they are eating seed already, and I got them from a reputable local breeder, so they are old enough. I was actually going to call the breeder and ask for their birthdays, but you're right, I think I overestimated how old they were. Judging from their size and what I've found online, I think they're about 2 months old at least. I'm going to call today and verify. But if they're eating seed, then they're definitely old enough, aren't they?

It's a wonderful picture - it would be great to see a series of photos - showing how thy mature, if possible. Nice Diary for you too. ;)
I know I'd love to see it ... please. :)

Adorable! Are they already tamed? I'm having such a hard time with my Hercules. He is really hyper and freaks out everytime I get near him. You are sooo lucky to have such cute birds!

They can't be 2 months. :( My guess would be 1 month, 5 weeks max, because they're tail feathers aren't full length and a 6 week old baby's tail would be (i breed budgies so can regonise the different ages). It's good they're eating, just keep a real close eye on them and it would be good to offer them some soft food as well as their seed and veggies. Good soft food is egg and biscuit mix (available from pet shops) dampened with warm water. :)

Maybe you thoughjt that they were a few months because they could be English Budgies, English Budgies are larger in size than American budgies from day 1
