Lol. My doggie has tried to bite my budgie :) Acctually my moms lovebirds bite my budgies tail. They have tail envy :D

I have a good scarey story. I find it rather horrible. We bought a rotweiler puppy, and about a week and a half later...I put him outside to do his thing. Then I went back into the house, and went down stairs. I waited probably ten minutes or so then went to find him. I couldnt find him...He was under one the chairs on the deck. But the scarey part was that he had his head stuck in a Mr. Kool-Aid juice jug. He didn't have any air!! It was soo horrible, he couldnt get it off. I kinda laughed at him before I realized he wasnt getting any oxygen. Lol. Anyways to make along story short, I ran into the house and got a knife. He was okay. But to make the story even worse, we went to Edmonton, Alberta (Canada For The U.S. ppl lol) And he hadnt gotten his Parvo shots yet, well he caught it. He passed away about a week later. Poor little guy :(

Hind-sight is very cutting & humbling. :(

We lost Mom's Canary to our cat the day before Mom was due back from her holiday. Dad & I just sat there in the kitchen with the poor little fellow, in shock. My old cat (had to have been 17 at the time) had leaped straight up to grab the cage bottom, of a hanging cage. Her body weight pulled the bottom off & she caught the bird as she fell. Pretty amazing cat skills - unfortunately for the bird.

This is why I've been trying to be patient about getting a Budgie, at present. The only ray of hope is that my present cat (18) is now so deaf, the pigeons are taunting her. :o She still has as good a hunting sense though, as the cat from the story above - in fact they're related.
So a really god cage & cage location has to be planned in detail. Other good news is: she's sleeping more, so I would have more opportunities to have the bird out. :D

One day I couldn't find Spike. He was in the room somewhere, but I couldn't find him. Then I saw the vent open... it was blowing cold air. I listened into the vent and heard a crawling noise. I started freaking out, but when I headed for the door, I saw him just sitting on the floor, smiling.

I had my 'keets out free-flying, and I was lazy and didn't take the quaker parrot into another room, like I usually do-- I figured I'd just watch 'em real close. Nana flew on Stormys' (the quakers'), cage, and before I could control the situation. Stormy had ahold of her. She was screaming, and I was screaming and trying to pry Stormys' beak open, and Stormy would NOT let go. I finally calmed down and was able to pry his beak loose, Nana had a blood feather broken in the process, and she bled a LOT, before I could get it stopped. I didn't have the quick stop stuff. I only had a styptic pencil-- still in the package, and I had to read the instructions to know how to use it. Someone mentioned-- humbling-- yes, I know what you mean...
