I have not been here since my Quaker Parrot, YMA, died several weeks back. Just have not felt like participating a lot. Plus there has been so much going on around here that I really have not had a lot of time.
Our roof was badly damaged by Hurricane Wilma 8 months back. Well, we finally got a new roof. It took the crazy roofer and his crew almost a week to finish the job but it is done. And, just in time. We had a real heavy rain today. Complete with flooding. Minor flooding in a low part of our house...our laundry room. No damage though. Thank goodness.
I've decided to breed Yma's parents again when the weather cools off. Probably in November or December. If I'm lucky there, I'll keep another baby and train her like we did Yma. We really miss that little bundle of green feathers. She brought us a lot of joy and we gave her a lot of love. We miss her terribly but, as they say, life goes on. If I do keep another one, I'll post photos, etc.
Just wanted to say hi to all and to thank you for your kind thoughts during my time of grief.
