sick or just getting old?

my little girl, Tweety, is around 6 yrs old. Shes always being pretty affectionate but a few months ago she started to let me holda nd pat her. She always used to fly away if i tried to touch her back or head but not she just sits there and puts up with it.She also doesnt play as much or sing.
Is she ill or just getting old?

Hmmm. It could be that she is mellowing out, or that she is in fact ill. My budgie Apollo mellowed out as he got older. He would let us scratch his head, which he had never done.

Does she show any other signs that might indicate illness? Like her droppings are normal? She is breathing normally? She perches on her perches properly? Doesn't hang out on the bottom of her cage? Eats normally?
