Between a double factor dominant pied and a recessive pied? The pics i've seen, they look just about the same! Is it just the cere and iris rings?
A Double factor dominant pied can sometimes look like a recessive pied, but develop an iris. Recessives do not, like for example my budgie Kacey she looks like a Dominant pied if you just look at her, but you notice she doesn't have an iris which makes here a Recessive pied. Another difference is that Recessive pieds never get a full cap, they stay with scattered stripes.
A Double factor dominant pied also holds both the parent's dominant genes, or if you breed two dominant pieds.
It's a confusing thing.

I had that confusion also..... I love reccesives...... so to get pieds I need two reccesives but IF I happen to find a doble factor dominant pied I WILL get pieds just not as reccesive or double factor but still pieds......
birdie genetics sure are confusing, once you think you got it.....BAM..... another one comes by.... LOL
