Budgie won't budge!

Ok! Just curious, in the beginning did you have any issues with your budgie not wanting to leave his or her cage? Tiki seems quite opposed!

I have had that trouble before. Hopefully i wont with my latest addition. Blinkiw was the opposite (and still is), he races back and forth begging to be let out. :p

Hi Debby. That is completely normal. Often new budgies like to hide out in the safety of their cage. Just be patient with them. If you take Tiki out, start with short periods of time and leave the cage closeby so she can choose to go back in if she likes. Gradually increase the amount of time spent out of the cage and move the cage farther and farther away. Hope this helps!

i have an open top cage my babies will only come out of the top and that took some getting used to they dont go near the doorway i usually leave mine off so they can come in and out as they please i like it that way xx

Ohh you are soo lucky Bea!

My Budgies hate coming out of their cage so I take the bottom off and they fly underneath. They have got used to that now and fly under almost immedietly.

The opposite of you, charlie and lola! Yours come out the top and mine come out the bottom!

I take off the bottom too sometimes. It depends what kind of mood my budgies are in though.
