Hi everyone!
I am wondering if anyone can give me some advice on purchasing a cage from e-Bay. I have attached a photo of one and the "Buy It Now" price is only $24.99! How can that be possible? Has anyone done this. I mean, this looks like a minimum $400.00 cage! Also, the shipping is $207.00 to Canada which is more than acceptable unless there are added duties or fees. I know that UPS are notorious for charging extra fees. Anyone have any advice or experience. This seller is biradise2. Thanks Teri

if it's a store or company selling it, they might have a surplus of inventory and looking to get rid of stuff. Look and see if they are selling other items to get an idea of what they are all about.
Also pay attention to their feedback and look at any negatives they might have.

It is indeed a beautiful cage. One thing you might take note of is that a great many cages are made in China and that recently there have been allegations that leaded paint is used in all sorts of applications there that would not be used here, so that is one thing you might check on about this cage.
I did go check it out on Ebay (found it by price) and looked at the vendor's other cages. they are all similar with a small selling price and huge shipping cost, far exceeding what UPS in my opinion would actually charge, so perhaps they get their money through the shipping charges.
While they purport to offer a full guarantee, in the small print at the bottom you will see that they do not refund shipping charges so here again use caution because you are out most of your money if something is wrong with the cage.

it's a nice cage and all but I have major issues with paying MORE for shipping then than I would on a cage But that's just my thoughts I personally would not buy a cage that I had to pay more in shipping
Speically if You don't get the shipping back I saw alot of cages on E-Bay the shipping was outrageous and the cage did not cost that much at all, and I wouldn't even consider those, I think its a rip off in my opioion
But i do like the cage, have you tried any of the places that offer free shipping? when i was looking for a new cage I just Put Bird Cages with free shipping into my search engine
the one place only had a free shipping if you spent over 50.00 dollars which i did not notice at first but most of them it didn't matter how much you spent it was free shipping on everything

The outrageous shipping cost for a low price item is a kind of scam lots of sellers on e-bay are using. There was a discussion about it on e-bay, you could try to find it and read the article. I agree with everyone else, I have a hard time accepting a shipping charge way out of line with the cost of the item.

If this cage comes from outside the country, you would have to pay duty and taxes as well.
My advice: "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."
I would stay away from this "deal"...

Thanks everyone for your info. My problem is solved, I have found a distributor in Canada finally and it is only two hours drive away in Montreal, Quebec. Here is the cage I am going to pick up in a few weeks. It is selling for $249.00 plus 15% tax, but I won't have to pay shipping. I am getting it in white. Just waiting on word about the lead paint issue. Take care.

Nice looking cage? What are the dimensions?
The dimensions are 39" x 23-1/2" x 69", 1/2" bar spacing so it is perfect for budgies! Will be going to pick it up in a few weeks. They have it in white also, which I think I prefer. They also ship in Canada. Here is their web site:
