This one is my sons, we got him for my son for his birthday, He named him Loverboy. Once he is out of Quarentine, he will become a mate for Passion.
He is currently in my son's bedroom. Let me know what you think. He is one heck of a biter, he actually drew blood when I took him out of the box to put him in the cage, I guess it was from being scared.

very pretty. He looks alittle bit scared yet, but I'm sure that will pass. He should make a good friend for Passion.

Thanks, he has only been here for a couple of hours, so he is still a little scared, I am hoping he will come around in the next day or 2. How old do you think he is?

Is there a way to tell exactly what year he was born besides the coloring of the band, does the band have the year on it?

From the pics i cant see any bars on his head, so he must be older than 3 or 4 months. I dont think there is any other way you can tell how old he is...anyone?

I'd say he's roughly 8 or 9 months, 8 months is when their eyes take on the white iris..as for years in particular, I'm pretty sure no pet store would sell budgies that are over a couple years.

someone at another forum told me that The Budgerigar Organization issues certain color of bands for each year and said that the gold bands were issued for 2004, but I found this sight and was wondering what the difference is between the ABS and the WBO, see here is the site http://www.abs1.org/bands06.htm I know that ABS stands for American Budgerigar Society, but what does WBO stand for?

What a cutie! I agree that he is probably 8 or 9 months, maybe a bit older. It is always hard to tell when they reach maturity since they all start to look the same...no bars, iris in the eyes.....

I don't know about the colours of the bands. WBO stands for World Budgerigar Organization. Here's their link:
