Agent my Lovely budgie who is now 3 and myself have got a great relatioship.
He was the first budgie I bred personnaly and I handled him when he was about 2 weeks old and then left him with his mum n dad n brothers and sisters.
Well eventually we introduced him into the flight with all the other budgies that werent breeding at that time, each day I would go in and change the food and water and clean it out every so often, each time I stepped into the flight Agent flew and landed on my head,
Eventually when I walked in I would have about 7 or 8 budgies land on me and get attachted to me, but Agent was the one who started it and was my favourite,
I can do anythign with Agent and he performs for me and is a really lovable pet, I don't know what I would have doen without Agent, I have never tamed him or anything like that he just chose me and was tame.
when my mother and father broke up and got divorced we gave up breeding for a year and gave all our budgies away except one, who was put in a cage and is now in my room where he has been for 2.6 years.
But...I have friends with pet budgies and also reading about other peoples budgies I have noticed that Agent is nothing like them, Agent is on his own in his cage but has constant contact with people, He is chirping away while I write this, but still he doesnt play like other budgies, hes not that inquisitive and is quite still and doesnt do much, when he is out of the cage he will fly about and sit on my shoulder while I walk about and do my work, but still he doesnt play or isnt like others I have seen here that are funny and do thigns to entertain, the only thigns he does like that are thigns I have taught him to do on command.
Im really worried that there is somethign wrong with him as he isnt the same as other budgies, which he was when he was with the others in the flight,
I am contemplating getting another budgie as company but do not wnat him to lose me as a partner and friend, I dont want him to become a budgie that isnt tame and I do not know what to do.
