What is going on?

Ok, when Casper & Jasper were in the round cage they were pretty close with one another, they would preen each other, snuggle, etc. and shortly after I put them in the bigger cage they did the same, and now Casper is getting kinda hateful towards Jasper, Not mean aggressive hateful. Whenever Jasper tries to go near her, she chases him away, or she will kinda chirp loud at him and he will go to the other end of the cage. He does the chirping noise like under his breathe and bobs his head at her, but when he tries to snuggle or kinda like kiss her, she looks like she is trying to peck him. I started noticing this last night and they are doing it still this morning. Is this normal behavior for a hen in breeding season?

Hmmm. This doesn't sound unusual. Girlie budgies can be a bit moodie; everything revolves around them so if they are feeling unfriendly, then they aren't afraid to show it. As long as your girlie budgie isn't causing harm to your little guy, they should be fine; otherwise you may wish to separate them. Anyone have any other thoughts on this?

I found out what the problem was, she is going out of breeding season and Jasper is still feeling frisky. :loveeyes: :loveeyes: LOL
