ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS clip your birds wings...

No amount of hiding mirrors and closing curtians will help.

My beautiful little freebie a yellow lutino flew into a wall and broke her neck.

Her wings had grown back...

Please people... ='(

RIP yellow one =(

I, too , am sorry to hear of your loss. I, as you may know, lost a pet Quaker Parrot a few weeks back. Her wings were clipped and she couldn't get away from one of our dogs. Had her wings NOT been clipped, she might have had a chance to fly away unharmed. Hard to call it. I don't plan to clip my next Quaker's wings as a result of this. Quakers, however, are unlike parakeets in the fact that they will come back if they get out. The adult pair I have in one of my outside aviaries got out for several days and, when they realized food availability was no problem here, they came back. That was a happy day. And, they are wild birds. Not pets.

Again, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.
