I just have to ask cos Rob & I always disagree on what we should be feeding Chalky. I guess i do kinda spoil her but i only give her treats like seed bells(with fruit since she wont actually eat the fresh stuff) and egg stuff. I give her small peices of toast a couple of times a week and millet about once a week. I sit at night and hand feed her seed, she waits on me doing it and if i sit by her cage and dont feed her she squaks so loudly until i feed her!(its quite sweet). Anyway, rob says i shoulnt put so many treats in her cage but i think its better?? and what about the egg food, is that good for them? ;)

Mine have access to their seed all day long so can eat when they want. They have millett every other day, those little seed bells they have just as a treat maybe 1 a fortnight. I give them egg biscuits every few days as they love them as far as i know they seem pretty good for them. I also offer them apples & dandelions etc,but most of the time they ignore them.So i dont think youre over feeding Chalky just keep an eye on her weight ;)

Hee hee, we must hav replied to that one at the same time! ;)
Black seeds? Sunflower seeds perhaps?
Anyway, seed treats are so fatty and low in nutrition that there's really no reason to feed them. A piece of millet about 1 inch in length is great as a once a week only treat. Bread (toast) should also be kept as a treat. I wouldn't hand feed her the seeds all the time because if you go on holiday and someone else has to take care of Chalky i doubt they'd want to hand feed him. :P Does chalky eat vegetables?
