Just a stringy beady one, the tiels will like playing with the beads.

A paddle pop stick and bead one, and look what it says

Bails (as in Bailee, i didn't have any O's or E's or Cookie would've got one too)

A dragonfly-ish toy

A chain toy i restored with rope and beads

And the most awesome one for last!

A wiffle ball, bead and rope toy! :D Used up all i had left of my cotton rope, but it's so cool i don't care.

Here's a few pics of Cookie and Bailee playing with them, the budgies are more cautious of new toys, so no photos of them playing yet.

Cookie looks around at the new toys, she nibbles one...

How many toys do you all put in your cage? I know it depends on the cage size, but just in general? Right now, I have three........two that he likes a lot so they stay in there all the time, and another I trade out (need to in fact). He hasn't even touched it! I have a fairly large cage.

I have cages that's 30" wide, 33" tall and 18" deep and i put HEAPS of toys in there. I keep the budgies cage clearer because they fly, the tiels climb around so i can put more toys in for them.

They are really cute toy. How did you make the last one? They look much better than the ones they sell at the pet store. What kind of toy do you recommend for budgies. I just got 3 baby budgies and I'm wondering which toys are best for them and also won't scare them.

I've made all my birds thier own toys - I only bought one thing at a pet shop - and that was the 1st play area i bought tweety
but on the play area my boyfriend made ( I put a pic of it on here but i can't remember where right at this moment lol) but all the "toys" hanging off it if i made with just string and beads, I got a huge 1 pound tub of Beads at my local Hobby Lobby (craft store) for like 5 bucks and a pack of Big wooden beads for like 99 cents and i still have tons left over and we made em alot, I even made one and hung it in my budgies cage

my budgies play on the big play area more then my Quaker - and it was actually made for him LOL but as long as at least one bird gets use out of it its money well spent :-)

I was going through the pictures of the toys you made and each one looked better and better as I went though. Then I got to the last picture of that AMAZING toy with the wiffle balls!! That is just genious!! Now that's the kind of toy all spoiled birds of any kind could appreciate. :)

Great toys!! You've given me some great ideas on how to add some flare to some of the toys I already have.

I agree, the toys DO look better than the ones we see in petstores and definitely less expensive.
I am going to visit our craft store this week and see what they have.
I have a lot of natural cotton rope that I can use.
LOL, I am now picturing all of us making cute toys for our fids. :)

They look great. What do you use to dye the popsicle sticks?

Bea, you should open your little "Talk Budgies store" and offer your toys at a special discount to us. :)

Looking at your clever toy creations inspired me to buy more toy parts for small parrots and as soon as they are here, I am going to make toys for my fids.
