I got a new baby white girl. Cant wait to tame her even though it will take a while i think she will be a great budgie. I posted a pic of her in her cage she is kinda dirty i will put a little bath in there for her to get used to. First 2 pics are farva 2nd 2 are ramathorn aka thorny and the 5th pic is of the new baby girl the toy she is next to is her favorite like right when i got her home put her in her cage she went to it and started playing with it. I went to move it out of the pic and she jumped on my hand then back off my hand so i left it haha i cant wait to get her clean she is really pretty

She's a cute bird. :) This is my first look at Thorny as well. He's good looking too! :D

I like new budgies who start playing right away. That's how Kansas and especially Vegas were. The others were scared when we first brought them home. That's no fun.

I am glad you are happy with your new budgie! She looks like a sweetie pie!

I haven't figured out how I can help white budgies stay white! As you can see from my avatar, Skyla has a white head (well, most of the time!), except when she had rubbed her head on her yellow mineral block a while back; she looked so dirty. And the thing is, she doesn't molt very often so the mineral block stained feathers stuck around for about a year!

She has also been known to have baths in her grated carrots. Check out this picture of her:

Then she lives in a very upscale dumpster!

That's a funny picture! :D My old budgie Budgie used to go to town on a carrot. She'd rip into tiny little pieces and when she was done her face would be orange. It was the funniest thing. :)

How long would Budgie be orange from the carrot? I am actually quite surprised with how quickly the orange seems to tone down. I have a picture of Skyla the day after her carrot bath and she looks pretty clean:

She'd stay orange for a couple days, probably about two or three.

k first question is its a new cage to her will she find the water and food easily? 2nd question is when should i introduce Farva and Ramathorn aka thorny to the new baby girl.

In regards to your first question, she should find the food and water pretty easily. They usually do. Just don't be surprised if you don't see her eat/drink for the first few days. This tends to happen when new budgies are brought home. She's just getting used to her new environment. If she's anything like Kansas though, she'll be eating tomorrow. It all depends on the bird.

If I am correct, she has a hooded water dish in her cage? What you can do is float a small piece of lettuce in her water feeder and then she will be able to tell that there is something in it. What I have also done to teach Skyla where her water cup is, is I would slide the water cup out of the holder and put the cup in front of her as I jiggled it just a bit so she could see that there was water in it. Then I would wait a few minutes (still holding the cup a couple of inches away from her) before having her watch me put the water cup back in its place in the cage. Gradually, when I would offer her the water, she would start nibbling the sides of the cup; as she did that, I would tilt the cup and get her tongue wet. Then she learned that she could drink out of it. Now she drinks no problem out of her hooded water cup!

As far as finding food, it is usually a good idea to have a couple of food dishes. One could be the hooded feeder, and another could be a dish that you clip to the side of the cage. That way she can choose her favourite food source.

As far as introducing her to the boys, technically speaking, she should be quarantined away from the other birds for a minimum of 30 days (probably closer to 45 or 60 days). Ideally, she would be kept in another room of the house, but I know how hard that can be so at the very least, keep her in her own cage and don't let the boys climb around on the outside of her cage until that time frame is over. The reason is that the quarantine period usually gives your new bird adequate time to adjust to her new surroundings, but more importantly, to show any signs of an illness IF she is sick. If she is sick and in quarantine, then she wouldn't pass the illness to the other birds. If she is sick and she is NOT in quarantine, she will likely pass on her illness to the other birds. Then you end up with three sick budgies!

Hope you have fun with your new addition!

Yes, your idea with food dishes is good idea. You should have more than one than one food dish. :)

Right now she is in a different room in a different cage. It not a very nice cage though. When im done building my large cage the 2 boys will go in there and the girl in there old cage cause its a much nicer cage. I will keep her quarantened for 40 days just to be safe then have them start being together (all 3) more and more then eventually they will all live in the cage i built. (If they can get along)
