pitbulls have a bad name because of the idiot owners:mad: who mistreat them,fight them & generally give the dogs a bad name.treat a dog as you would expect to be treated yourself & youre have a loyal ,loving pet.

Ya on the news people only talk about bad things about pit bulls. How they bite people, attack them, and run away. My cousin has a pit bull and she is a sweet dog! Thanks for the video!

In Ontario, we have a ban on pitbulls. It is unfortunate that people have made the decision to do this especially when I think that most of the issues with pitbulls have to do with inadequate training on the part of the owners. Many pitbulls are very lovely dogs!

i do believe that they are probably more prone to agressive behavior than other breeds, but i also think that lack of owner knowledge contributes to this. i will never have one because i would just be too nervous. i plan on having kids, and would be too afraid... kids do crazy things to pets, no harm meant, and the results can be terrible. but i do think they are amazing dogs if the owner is responsible enough... thing is, i just would not trust myself... i am just too used to other breeds! ANY dog can be agressive if not treated properly. i think labs are amazing dogs... my family got one when i was about 2 or 3, and she had to be put down when i was 14... that dog was the kindest, sweetest creature i have ever seen. however, we treated her right. had we abused her, there was obviously no way she would have been so nice.
i cant stand knowing that pitbulls are put down every day just because they are acting naturally due to having been mistreated. think about it... if you were being mistreated, it would be pretty natural for you to lash out as well! if someone was kicking and beating me, i would not just sit there and smile.

aww thats a good video, i agree with blubird, its the idiotic owners who give pitbulls a bad name, around where i live alot of people are into putting there pitbulls into fights till one dies, and to train them they steal people dogs that tied up say outside coffe shop or where ever and fight them and there goes a perfectly good family pet dead because of dum idiotic owner just like that. and now everyone or most people give pitbulls bad name si personally think its all in how you train dogs. the bad pitbulls are trained to kill and fight...its horrible....and thanx for that video link! i bookmarked...i shall show my freinds :D

Never. Yes, that might have been the result of the dog being abused or whatever but what a price that poor little boy will pay for the rest of HIS life.

I completely understand where you are coming from. I would not have this type of dog for to reasons.
1.) If it were to be banned in the area I lived in I would not move just for the dog but I would also not have the heart to give him/her up to be put to sleep.I would be bawling and crying my eyes out.
2.) They aren't my kind of dog.

That video is so sweet adn kind of sad at the same time. Its sweet because it shows people just how nice these dogs are. Its sad because it also shows people just how mistreated these poor dogs are.

I'm not going to lie. I've always kinda been afraid of pitbulls, german shepards . . . dogs like that. I see people walking them on the street, petting them, but I can't ever imagine myself doing that. I see this video and I realize just how lucky I would be to have a dog like that. :)

Ever time I see video like that they bring tears to my eyes. I just had my pitbull Isaac put down this past March. A day before his 12th birthday. He was going blind plus had some wierd growths all over his body. Isaac always thought he was a lap dog. Never once in his life did he bite or even growl at anyone. I miss him very much... :crying2:

I think any dog that is abused, and "goes bad", because of it, and attacks a child, would likely get "bad press", and possibly, somebody would try to look a little deeper, and take a chance and give the dog a little "fair press." But I think that Pits' get, the most, bad press, not neccesarily because they were abused which caused them to go out and attack someone, though that's certainly part of it, but I think the main reason why Pits' get, so much, bad press, is because of peoples' ignorance about the breed. If everyone could be a Cesar Milan, there'd be no problem with Pits, and, for that matter, Pits, as the breed exists, would probably not be here-- a less altered style of the present breeds' ancestors, perhaps. But anyway, the bad press comes out of peoples ignorance. Dogs have been altered from their natural state in all kinds of different ways. No animal lover minds when we say German Shepards can be very loyal because they were bred to have that trait. Why should animal lovers mind if we say Pit Bulls can be very dangerous because they were bred to have that trait. They have been bred to be dangerous. Breeders wanted them to fight and win. There was the almighty dollar involved. Not every breeder bred pit bulls with that intent, but in general, it's a fighting breed. Men have interfered with the natural order of things, and mistakes are made and sometimes there are dire consequences. People need to educate themselves about pit bulls before they get one. They need to be ready to observe that sweet, little, puppy, at the age when the puppy, "clicks on", so they can see if it clicked on good, or clicked on bad. The bad press comes from the ignorant persons shock . disbeleif and feeling of betrayal,when their beloved pit bull, "clicks on" bad, and attacks their child, themselves, or another human, or animal. It isn't betrayal, but we see it that way. What it is, is a trait man bred into the line. Do we all know what "click on", means? Well, if we're going to make an educated assessment of the breed, we need to.

I'm very educated on this topic, abel, and you seem it to! I'm glad you believe that pitbulls are misundserstood.

IMO, Pitbulls get a bad reputation because they are used as Illegal fighting dogs. The sport in, which, they fight pitbulls for money. They bet on which dog would win. Is this the dogs fault they are trained to do this? No, not at all! They are born into this horrible life where they live on heavy chains where no one cares about them until they fight. They feed them **** and don't take them to the vet, they simply use staple guns to seal up a cute. Then, when the police finally get a hold of them, it's usually to late. The dogs are put to sleep because they never have a normal chance in society, because they want to attack every dog they see.

I also think people get attack by different breeds of dogs, but they blame pitbulls. Like one women I heard had to a sugery on her face because a dog attacked her. Her dog, she said. It was blamed to be a pitbull, when it was a Lab. Labs have more records of attacking people each year, and pitbulls are being blamed? Seriously, BSL is such bull****! It makes me soo MAD!:mad:
