About 6months ago I put a nest box in my budgies cage after researching a lot. She kept on laying eggs but she kept on throwing them out. She ended up getting really tired so we took it out. We recently asked the expert at brookfield produce what might have happened and he said my hen is to dominant, which she is she has the power. Because of this my hen wouldn't mate.

He sais we probably need to get a new male but will have to be very dominant. Especially because the male we have already is extremely dominant.

But I don't want to buy a new birdy, is there any way we could get them to mate:S !

Thanks for your help

Hmmmmm, it is possible that your two budgies just aren't meant to be mates. When one is dominant like that, it can cause the very problems you are experiencing. You can't change a budgie's fundamental disposition so you've gotta either work with it and their limitations, or try to get another budgie who would be able to "stand up" to your hen. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Thanks for replying Budgiekin,
I suppose ypur right:( ! Oh well! She is sooo picky, we used to have another bird who she wouldn'y mate with either! But He was unfortunately a bit of a runt, he stayed small his whole life.

Does anyone-else have any thoughts on this??
