Did you not look at the small Rolling Aviary on that link? How small of a "flight pen" are you wanting to build?

here is a website I like to go to for ideas, www.pvcplans.com
In fact our avairy is on the website. Hope this helps. There is nothing more satisfying then making your own home for your budgies. Good Luck :budgie:

It is made of PVC pipe and measures 6ft wide by 6ft tall.

Just use dimensions that work good for the area it is going in.

My question is about what type of material was used for the actual cage part ?

I saw that it said 6ft cage I was just wondering side dimensions and all of that.

Yeah that is great. That is what I want to do. I just need to know like how they connected it all. What material was used for the netting. But that is exactly what I had in mind.

Hi, This is our cage you have posted on the website. It is neat. Our budgies love it. It is 6 ft x 6ft x 2 ft. I can draw up some plans for you and have them for you in a couple of days . We used plastic fence webing from Lowes. We used pvc pipe and connections from Lowes too. Let me know if you want exact dimensions and I can type them up for you and email them to you. :budgie: :budgie: :budgie:

I have pictures of the beginning to end of our aviary plans if you would like them too. My husband said he would be glad to talk with you about our plans on how our budgie aviary we made. We both would make a few changes now that we have used the aviary. Basically you can make it like you want and for the needs of your budgies. We have 18 budgies in our aviary and they love it. We have it sitting in our living room so we can interact with them when we are watching tv too. Most of our relatives hate coming over to our house because they hate the noise they make, but we love them.
We are always coming up with new ideas of things for our budgies to play with. Sometime they play with our new toys and sometimes they don't. My goal right now is to get them off of an all seed diet. :budgie:

18 Budgies in your living room !!!

Thats awesome.

Are they tame ? Do you handle them or let them out ?

Most of them are tamed and they know their names, some of them still need work. I take them out a few at a time and let them play on a play gym. My husband and I like to cuddle up to them in a blankie when they are out too. Yes, we have all 18 in the living room. It can be noisey at times, but we love it. I am in the process of feeding them different veggies and fruits without luck at this point. I am trying more celery today. so, far, they have not touched it. I guess I will have to hid the millet inside the lettuce or something to get them to eat other things than a seed diet. :budgie: :budgie:

I read a new game tonight for our budgies. do you have any domino's. Take three of them. The number one, two and three. Hide millet under one of the numbers. then show the budgie the number and let them pick it out and you can show them they found their millet treat. Sounds like fun. I haven't tried it yet, but if anyone does, let me know how it works.:budgie: :budgie:
