Cranky?!?!

Okay so i thought my budgies had made up but Carlos still wont let Maria near him he keeps getting all cranky at her. But like 3 hours ago he was like preening her and she was preening him?!? He is so moody.

Budgies can be that way. As long as one isn't dominating or harming the other and seem generally content, they can be caged together. If however one of your budgies doesn't look happy (like is cowering in the corner for example), the you would likely want to separate them.

they sometimes do have to show each other the "pecking order"
just make sure there is no harm done.

There will be some fighting and pecking until a higher archy is formed then things will settle down, There is no need to seperate if they fight aslong as no blood is drawn. It's animal nature.
