Hi-
I bought a second hand cage from a woman on Craig's list for when I put my two budgies in together (in about 2 more weeks :) ). The lady cleaned the cage well but I would like to disinfect it myself just to be sure that it's sterile.
What can I use to clean and disinfect the cage that will not pose a hazard to my budgies?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Beth

I use apple cider vinegar but I am no expert.

If it was prev. owned I would disinfect it with a light soulution of bleach and water just make sure you rinse VERY WELL!!! Then for reg. cleaning vinergar and water is fine. PS_ Don't clean porous perches like wood with bleach.

I can only agree with what was said above.

I use a dilute bleach solution to disinfect cages. Just make sure you rinse them VERY well and let them dry before putting all the perches, cups and toys back in. ;)
