It was quite a surprise today when my uncle brought it home from work today, he never really approved of my budgies but I think Tinkerbelle must have charmed him, xp
Tinkerbelle is always the charmer, just yesterday night my uncle hesitantly allowed Tinkerbelle to perch on his finger for the first time ever. Thank god it wasen't Pookie, he's a tad bit too nippy now during his moult, so anyways, i came home from swimming to this:

thanks for the comments everyone n.n the birds love it, and because it is so close to their cage, whenever I let them out, they can just fly back and forth doing whatever they please n.n
@2beagleboys- That is gorgeous @3@ I wish I paid more attention during tech ed in school, but the cutting and sawing machines always scares me

thanks!! glad you like the feeder, I thought he might have used fir wood, its cheaper than most and a good hard wood, its ideal for the gyms.
I went into the craft store today, and Ill tell yah, I felt like a kid again. I have always liked doing crafts and working with my hands, the vast amount of beads, wood shapes and beads, rope, paints etc..is absolutely ridiculous!!:)
I even found small cut mirror by the package 1" round, that Im going to use.

CinnamonRoll, I dont use anything special to clean the perches.
I had bought sruby pads from the dollar store and one was put aside for the cage.
Its not a very abrasive one ( dont need to be ) and just some soapy warm water.
I dont soak it down I just rub it, it does the job for the perches, im sure it would be ok for the gyms too.
I wouldnt get it too wet when cleaning it though, but its ok the wood should not swell or anything, its a hard wood. I would suggest to let all the droppings dry before you clean that will help too.

just a suggestion, you could when you know they will be spending alot of time on the gym, tack down some wax paper, or just paper for that matter, to help keep the mess off the wood.
theres always those spots they stick too alot just tack it under there..;)

I must say I am jealous! I love it. I know what you mean about people saying or acting like they don't like our pets. My dad use to say he did not like my dog then one day I found the dog in the formal living room with my Dad eating at his feet and he says look he's eating by me That is the highest complement for Max to bring his food to your feet. I did not mention to my father that the dog was in the formal living room that he is not allowed in there. The next day my dog was on the couch next to Dad and he was petting him. ( also not allowed on couch) So it is really funny when people who try to act like they don't like our pets are smitten by them. It took Max a year to do it but he did get to his heart. Its great that your uncle is so talented and showed his love to you and your birds in this way. I think its just great. also glad that he did not attempt getting your bird that is a bit nippy. Well enjoy this great gift.

@ kcasey_72- so very true, its amazing how animals can pretty much worm their way into anyone's heart
@baby- thanks n.n I was just worried that water might damage the wood and etc

Nope- just get a new (never used for anything else) spraybottle and fill it with 1/2 hot water and 1/2 vinegar- then whenver you need to you can do a quick wipe down of all the areas- I use it daily to wipe down the cage and perches.

Wow, that's amazing. I have two sorta-tamed budgies, but their already spoiled with a small tree they climb in our house. I have another one left in a seperate cage in which I'm trying my best to tame, and when he does, I'm gonna nag my grandfather to make something like that!!!
