Ok, today I took the first step in trying to get Casper and Jasper to come to me. As soon as I placed my hand in the cage (very slowly), they started to panic and were flip flopping all over the cage, I didn't move my hand, just rested my arm over the perch. How can I reassure them that i am not going to hurt them, that I want to be friends with them? They have been like this ever since I got them. Will I ever beable to tame these 2?

Just don't give up, that's the key. I am currently trying to tame my VERY timid Willow. just keep doing what you are doing and rest your hand inside, talking to them calmly for long periods of time. Once they are comfortable with that, you can slowly move your finger closer to them like a perch over a few weeks time and finally get them to step up on your finger. However, this would be easier if you took each one seperately for each training session, one at a time. Also, you can trying keeping millet between your fingers, almost no budgie can resist that! ^_~ Keep trying, are there any other questions you have?

it is going to be hard to seperate them considering I have only the one cage. Well, I have a large hamster cage I could use, but unsure if it is still in the shed ir not, hubby cleaned the shed out a few weeks ago. I have to go buy some millet, I am out, gave them the last of it yesterday. Casper landed on my hand a couple of times and bit my finger, but I didn't jump or gerk it back, I just left it there.
The more I see pictures and read how friendly everyone is with their budgies, the more desperate I am to becoming friends with mine, it just seems they are not as willing. The way Jasper was breathing, I am almost scared I will end up giving him a heart attack, he was more scared then Casper was.

I found the old hamster cage, but it is pretty big, about 18 in. high and 24in long with a huge door, and I would be scared that they would get out when i opened it, plus i don't have anything to put in it for a perch, an no where to put it, I have the hamster and rats in here in the computer room with me and the budgies and parrot are in the livingroom and no room for another cage, plus hubby may get mad if I seperate them even if I did find room, plus it would be very hard for me to try to catch one of them to transfer to another cage because they are so skiddish. If I find room for another cage, any suggestions on how to catch one of them for the transfer?
