Could anyone tell me what mutation my new budgie is? The breeder told me recessive green pied or something, but I don't think that's correct. You can't see it but he has a yellow stripe on his belly and is starting to get pure yellow feathers on the back of his head through his stripes.

He is the one next to the orange fruit.

He is the one in the front with his head tilted.

As a baby.

Also, his cere was a light blue when i got him. He is a smidge over 2 months and it seems to be turning purple now. Is there anyway to tell the gender yet by that information. I can't tell about the white rings around the cere.

Thanks all for your help :D

Hmm, I'm not good at mutations, but I think he is a he. What a lovely bird!

I was thinking boy as well which would be wonderful since that's what I wanted. I have thought of a few names. Let me know what you guys think and which ones you like and feel free to suggest any other names. I'm most fond of the first one...

Bug
Leo
Harley
Ami
Shadow

I had more but I forget them :hammer: Duh!

Im guessing its a Recessive Pied Budgie and a boy.
If it was up to me I'd go with Bugs kinda like my little buddie.

I got to this site through the links of another member. I thought it was a pretty clear description of mutations and colouring. Lots of pictures.
