At this point I'm not really sure what to do about Willow. When I went to the bird place, they told me my method of leaving my hand perfectly still inside her cage isn't gonna work since she's older than a baby and is skittish. However, when I did their method, the grab her with a cloth till she calms down method, she ended up breaking two of her blood feathers. at this point I'm not really sure what to do.
Any suggestions? :(

Have you tried offering millet between your fingers? That is one way to entice your sweetie to come closer. Eventually you can do it so that she has to step up to be able to get to the treats.
I don't like the capture and calming method of taming. I get the impression that it kinda traumatizes the little sweeties. :p

I know, but it's so so hard that sometimes I reaally feel like she's never going to be tame and I should just give up T_T. I've tried the millet thing, and she wants it, but won't come any closer to me. So then I tried the putting my hand perfectly still for 15 minute sessions till she'll perch on me, but she never lets me get anywhere near her anymore and freaks out and jumps to the side of the cage.
I just feel like giving up so often now.....:(:(:(

Don't listen to the pet shop and catch her with a towel. I had to do that for a week with Oscar when I had to give him nose drops and for two weeks after that he absolutely hated me catching him. I agree with the others try the millet spray in your hand. Keep leaving your hand in there and talk to her in a calming voice.
Good luck.
Lots of Love

my budgies love to come on MY fingers (key word MY) they just dont trust other people but when i have friends come over and they want to get a budgie out themself, they break off a ball of millet and hold it and immediately a budgie will fly right onto their hand and eat and thats how they take em out of my cage, otherwise thell be there for a long time.
