i have an innocent question regarding member-status on the budgie forums. i think i already know what "registered" means and i feel i can have a reasonable and very confident stab as to what the term "guest" implies, but i've no idea as to "spiders",

what are they, maybe it's because i'm 45 years old, sorry...

Those spiders are "good bots" and are from the stated hosts (Yahoo, Google, MSN) and they make the forum show up on search.

That's just about what I know about the spiders but they aren't bad bots, so no need to be concerned.

I will move this thread to Site Discussions. I think there are many members out there that are also asking the same question as you are. :)

That sums it up pretty well. They're basically the search engines "crawling" through our site looking for pages to add to their search databases (hence the name spider).
