First off, I must note that I won't be able to show any pictures, as I don't have any working cameras at the moment. There is a possibility I may get a disposable before any chicks are grown up, but if I do, it will be ages before I can show them, having to get them developed and all.

Anyway, I have decided to let Budgie, my green and yellow male, and Sky, my light sky blue and white female, have these eggs, despite having two clutches beforehand, though only one hatched. I know the risks and what to do, so please don't comment on it in this thread. You may in a thread I have already posted in the Breeding board, though.

So, Sky has had a clutch of seven eggs! It has been 17 days since she laid the first one, which means it is due to hatch tomorrow! I will keep you updated.

I hope all goes well- I know poor thing is tired but sounds like a great mommy. I hope baby #1 comes soon. Did you get to candle the eggs to get an idea of how many are fertile? It should be easy to tell now.

Yes, Sky and Budgie are both great parents. To be honest, I was quite worried about how Budgie would do as a father when the last clutch hatched! I was surprised to find he did excellent. Almost as well as Sky as a mum!

I haven't got to candle them. Hehe, I never have done that to any eggs, I normally just wait and see. I guess I could, though. Um...

Try it! In the dark take a flashlight and shine it into the nestbox- I'll try and find some pics to show you examples of what it would look like. Basically, the egg should have a dark color to it. There are alot of ways to do it but that's the way I would do it since you don't have to handle the eggs.

Sorry I haven't been on for two or three days, everyone, I've had a friend over, been to a friend's place overnight and been quite busy.

Well, I'm afraid I didn't get to candle the eggs, as our smaller flashlight seems to have run out of batteries, and our larger torch is too big.

Anyway, two days ago when the first chick was due, it didn't come. Yesterday there was no chick again, and I went to a friend's place. My family watched them though, and when Mum went to bed at 11:30 there was no chick. I arrived back home at 10:30 this morning, three hours ago; the second chick was due today.

And when I opened the box, there were two chicks! I assume they both hatched today, as they only had half an hour to last night.

Sorry I haven't been on since I made that post. I've been so busy. And I won't be able to come on until either Sunday or Monday, as I'm visiting my sister who lives two hours away for the weekend.

Anyway, anothing chick hatched this morning, I'm pleased to inform you. And yes, both Sky and Budgie, the parents, are doing well, as are the chicks. Sorry, I can't go on, I'm in a hurry. I'll be leaving to go to my sister's soon enough.

I'll give more updates when I get home!

Sorry again I haven't been on; I'm really far too busy... I'm trying to get on for the normal amount of time.

And don't worry, Babyluv, my family were watching them. They're well capable of it.

Anyway, every second day since the third chick, another has been born, accept for the 6th, which was due yesterday; it hatched today! So, I have 6 chicks, and the last egg is due to hatch tomorrow. I have to go away this weekend, too, but I may be able to access the internet where I'm going, depending, and again the next weekend.

Anyway, both the parents and the chicks are all doing very well, the parents are getting extra calcium and everything. A couple of chicks have opened their eyes.

That seventh egg hasn't hatched yet, and was due two or three days ago.

And everyone's still doing quite well! The tiny coloured tips of the begining of adult feathers has started on the two eldest, and one will have yellow wings, at least the very tips, like it's dad, and the other white wing tips like mum!

*Sighs* Is no one going to answer again? Anyway, the 7th egg still hasn't hatched, so I'm doubting it will.

The chicks, though, are doing great. I handled the two eldest today! They're lovely. One definately does has yellow wing tip feathers, and the other has white and dark grey. The third eldest looks similar to the white and dark grey winged one, but a lighter grey.

Your updates are very random- so I am assuming people just forgot about the thread.

Yes, that would probably be pretty correct. My fault, I've been so busy, I don't get to come on much now.

Anyway, they're all doing well. The eldest three are starting to peer out of the nest box. They've all developed colours on their wings at least, and personalities!
