Here is an easy recipe for that birdie bread that our babies love so much...
You'll need...
1/2 orange/apple juice
1 whole egg
1 box of Jiffy's corn muffin mix
1 cup minced veggies
1 cup crushed pellets/seed
Directions
Follow directions on the box and mix all ingriedients toghether.
Bake and let cool.
You can cut it into serving size pieces and individually wrap and freeze them.
ENJOY! Not you..the birds!

Health wise it's good for them- you can sneak in alot of stuff you normally couldn't get them to eat for weeks. For real picky eaters you can put the veggies through a blender to completly liquify them.
I make one every month or so and give them about three times a week. I think any corn bread/muffin mix will work just fine- I like Jiffy's because it's VERY cheap here. 6 boxes for $2.50 :)

okies n.n for the orange or applejuice can it be any kind like Tropicanca or should we be worried about the sugar in it?
and if I were to make my own muffins, should I be worry about the butter and salt thats part of the ingredients for it? n.n;;

Fresh squeezed orange juice with pulp would be ideal but not all of us have time to do that everytime-I say use what you have and I have used regular orange juice in the carton before-per the whole batch 1/2 cup is not alot.

Jiffy's is used for alot of birdie bread recipes because it's easy to make. It doesn't have any zinc and a low sodium content. As far as the butter/fat part that they use, even birds need a little once in a while and in this small amount it doesn't hurt. The fact that they are all combined with pellets (full of vitamins) and vegetables acctually helps them process the little fat there is.
You can make your own corn muffins from scratch just don't add salt and limit the butter. This recipe can be switches around a million different ways-that's why I like it. Take and add anything you want.;)
