n.n

I've had both my birds for a while now and have just started switching them to a pellet diet since I read that seeds are high in fat and bad for them in the long run. Anyways, both my birdies refuse to try it, are there any methods that might help? currently I've mixed some pellets and seeds together but they both always just pick out the seeds. n.n;;

Mixing it will most likely not work- they are little tricksters and will pick out what they want. Here is a link with a few methods. Try typing up pellet converstion and you will see alot of links come up.

thanks n.n I just tried the "foraging method" and noticed that Pookie did eat one or two of them n.n
Tinkerbelle just nibbles on the slightly and drops it again, the pellets seem too hard for them since they take a while to chew it apart? :S

To be honest I get the Zupreem Natural diet( the brown ones) and I put them through a food processor- I do a ziploc bag a day or so and give them it like that on top of their seed. They will gladly eat the "grinded" form rather than whole. I also do it as a treat-just mix some with applesauce or a little juice...whatever works.. Mine are not 100% on pellet since I believe they still need natural things like seed and veggies...etc. I put it in "birdie bread" (jiffy's corn muffin mix) and added minced veggies to it. The birdie bread can be frozen in portions and used later (good thing about it is they love bread and corn so you can sneak in healthy things without them knowing) oh yea and 1box of jiffy's corn muffin mix costs less then a dollar and last me about two weeks or more with 8 of them
