The second one looks nice if I had to chose but the mesurements are not that big on it... but can you say overpriced? Did you check out any local stores in your area? You should be able to find something bigger for the price in my opinion.

I don't care for the "Clean Life" cages design. Also, most parrots (budgies included) don't appreciate the extra height. You are better off finding a cage that is VERY WIDE! That gives them back and forth flight.

My suggestion is something like a 21" x 32" flight cage. We have rectangular cages as well that are 18" x 30" x 18" high. This is the absolute smallest cage I allow small birds to be housed in with my customers and adopters. This cage is only around $40.00. Budgies would like that cage better than the tall cages. This cage does very nicely on a little table, microwave or TV cart. Gives you storage underneath for all of their things :)

Many cages are designed for the buyer to like, not for the liking of the bird. In my opinion, the Clean Life cages are one of those. It is focused on user features to make cleaning easier, but not focused on what the bird needs, back and forth flight space.

Are you just housing one pair of budgies?

^ i agree
budgies prefer wide cages rather than tall
if you look around a bit more your sure to find a more suitable cage for a better price
:) i too think the second one looks better ^_^

ps. Andrea i thought you were on a break lolol :P

happy cage hunting :D

Thank you all for your help,I cant wait to get one ,I know they will be much happier in a lager cage. This one is just too small for two birds.

Yes that is a very good choice. The same 18 x 30 base as the one I mentioned but taller too! I recommend you think about this one :) Looks like the best choice for the mondy!

Oh, and Emmer, I couldn't help it *L*

I used to have that last cage you posted for my tiels, it's a great size. :) Not sure if it's in your price range but for $99 this cage is the same size, comes with a stand but is powder coated and will last much much longer. It's also not flimsy like the other one (the flimsiness was what i disliked when i had that cage).

If you can afford it, go with the cage Bea suggested. Also, look at your local pet stores. Even though you're paying more money now, it will save you money in the long run. If you absolutly can't afford a more expensive cage, go with the cheaper one. I used to have the same cage you have now, and it's too small for one budgie unless they have lots of outside time. I can't imagine what it would be like for two. General rule, buy the biggest cage you can afford.
Here's the one I have. I've kept four budgies in here at once. The only thing I don't like about it is the domed top. You can't hang many toys from it.

BTW: Please don't take this the wrong way, I'm not accusing you or condeming you or anything. Just trying to help. I've been on boards where people read a post like this and autimatically go on the defensive. :)

:D I didn't think you would. But my personality is to be right up front and say what needs said...not a lot of tact I'm afraid. Not many people like that so when I talk to people I don't know I tend to add a....whatever you want to call it. :)

Oh and I forgot to mention...If I had the space and money, I would buy the cage Bea suggested. That one wasn't an option when I was shopping so I ended up with the one I've got now.

The cage Bea showed is my favorite for small birds. We use it for grass keets, parrotlets, lovebirds, etc. Definitely go with that if you can swing it! It will be so worth it instead of buying the $40-$50 cage and then later deciding again to go with a larger one.
