How long does Molting usually last?

I got my budgie "Baby" 3 mos ago he is 9 mos old now and off and on he has been losing a downy type feather. Lately he has been losing a few tiny feathers. I'm wondering how long molting lasts.

Is there anything special I should be doing for his molting, it seems to me that it would be a stressfull time for him. am I right?

It is stressful but it's also natural and something budgies are used to. :) Indoor budgies can lose the fluffies almost constantly because the temperature doesn't change too much. Proper moulting (losing the actual feathers) lasts about 3 weeks i think.
