Well, please please please tell me this little wonderful beautiful girl that I just brought home is a spangle. This makes an even dozen for me and I'm not going to buy any more!!!!
Her markings were obviously different from the others. I had her clipped - her flight feathers really showed the tracing better than the wing feathers.
I think she is also a mish mash of other things like pied (not sure if dominant or recessive ) and probably opaline.
But would love to hear from you experts.

I'm hoping that if she is a spangle that I will be able to mate her with one of my yellowface males to produce my yellowface spangle. (Don't worry - not any time soon).
Oh yeah, name suggestions would be appreciated too.

I would say she is a Sky Blue Lacewing Dilute Pied. She dosent look that spangleish or mixed with opaline....It could be better if you get a picture of the wings I meen you did but the whole back part.
I would say the weaker wing markings are because she's recessive pied. I don't think she's dilute, Joey, cause her body colour isn't reduced.
Yes I agree but do you agree with Sky Blue Ressicve Pied LaceWing
She can't be a lacewing. A lacewing is a lutino or albino with cinnamon markings. I'd put her as just skyblue r. pied, nothing else.

Well here are a few more shots of her. I did post her pics on another forum and there was mixed reaction there too, but someone sent her pics to a spangle breeder who said she was spangle but was quite grey. So????
Trying to win her over with millet. Man can she bite!!!!

I've posted on a couple other boards and seems the conclusion is she is a spangle. Because she doesn't have the thin tracing, I'm guessing it is just poorly marked spangle. So probably a skyblue recessive pied opaline greywing spangle. What do you think?
After those pics i would say poorly marked spangle too....though still gorgeous!

What do you think her spangle offspring would have for markings - any chance they would be better or would they be diffused like hers?
I've been thinking about pairing her (not any time soon) with either Tazzy - recessive pied violet cinnamon or Romeo - yellowface recessive pied cobalt.
What do you think the offspring would be?
I'm not sure how the spangle babies would be marked. I've only ever bred with a clearly marked spangle and i got all clearly marked babies.
I give up!Settle for spangle if the breeder told you than he knows better than all of us!:D

Guys don't say "porly marked spangle" day "Not as marked spangle" or something like that, poorly makes it sound like a really bad thing!:budgie:

You asked for a name suggestion earlier. How about star as in star spangled banner. :)

My bird, Baby looks the same way, but is yellowfaced too. She is spangled, dominent pied, and yellowfaced. Your bird has to be at least one of those.

Research I have done show she looks like a sky blue dilute opaline, check this pic out www.geocities.com/budgies74/budgietypes.htm
