I'm not sure what was wrong, but I DID get her for free from Petsmart because somebody dumped her there... maybe they knew something I didn't... >-.-<

We found Rain this morning on the bottom of her cage. She had food and water etc. and she was fine last night when I put her to bed. I looked at the cage bottom and her stools were kinda watery.

I buried her this morning when I found her, and washed my hands before messing with Sora. It's a good thing I quarantined, although I still feel like crap about the whole situation. >;.;<

I'm sorry to hear that...It's always sad to lose a little one.. I am glad you quarantined her also.Some just never understand how important it is.... I can only imagine if you didn't. It is odd that they would give her to you for free...Did they have her with all the other budgies????

yeah , i feel bad for your loss maybe the petstore knew something that you didn't like you said or when they got it they did not quarintine right a way or something

babyluv12, i adopted 2 from petco also, ones that had been previously purchased there, but they couldnt keep them anymore. they were in a seperate cage up front.

I am sorry about Rain, it's so scary to see a beloved friend lifeless.. Thank God you've hade her in quarantine, maybe she had something that would affect Sora.

Well, I work at this store, and she was back in the isolation room - the lady who bought her brought her back because her other birds wouldn't accept her. She didn't ask for her money back, so they were just going to adopt her out... instead, I took her home.

At least I got to spend a few weeks with her before she went. >-.-;<

I'm so sorry to hear about Rain.
She really sounded like a trouper!
What you did was a great thing by adopting her, and I'm sure you made her last days memorable. :)

Awww, poor little Rain. I am sorry to hear about this... I am so glad you quarantined. Too many people just put new birds in cages with their other birds and the end result can be devastating... I am sure Rain appreciated being with you even though it was only for a short time. ;)

I've talked to a few people and they said they've had a few budgies from Petsmart randomly drop dead... >O.o< Ad come to think of it, I bought a budgie from Petsmart like 10 years ago, and I found him dying on the bottom of his cage one day when I came home from school... Could they be breeding defects?
