Ok so I've finally figured out how I'm doing everything.

I'm getting my new birdy baby this weekend, on Saturday morning. He or she will be in a separate cage for a while to be quarantied, and then later they will be put into one large cage. What I'm planning on doing is since the new one is tame (or so I'm told), I plan to handle him a lot and do a slow, VERY slow introduction to the other one....like just bringing him near the other cage every once in a while. this is because I was told thatif I put them together not really introduced, Willow will kill the new one since she's older and hasn't been around othe budgies for so long....so what I'm planning on doing, a very slow introduction over a course of a few weeks, and then put them together, does that sound good?

p.s. Willow's cere seems to be getting better, the browner part looks like it's coming off!! :D:D:D

Yeah, thats sounds like a good plan. If you did put Willow and the new bird together right way, Willow would want to be the dominant bird of the cage. She would problay attack the new bird but i don't think she would kill it...:S Has that ever happened before???

You are certainly doing the right thing for quarantine; just make sure they stay separated for a minimum of 30 days, which I am sure you already knew!. Also, you are definitely on the right track to introduce them slowly when you do finally decide to let them meet. Definitely supervise them for the first little while when you have them together. And it certainly wouldn't be a bad idea to have your older budgie see you and the newbie budgie interacting well together on occasion. That way your older budgie may learn to be a little more sociable (tame).

Good luck and please keep us up to date on how things are going with your sweeties!! We would love to hear about it!! :D

yes, quarantine from 30 -45 days, then introduce both birds by bringing their cages closer. then bring your original bird to your NEW birds cage. let them hang out there, then gradually, when they have become freindly, let them hang out in your first birds cage, if their is not fighting, all should be good for the big move in, lol
