Hi all,

My little spanky has been with us three days now and appears to be settling in quickly. Since having him I tried giving him a little carrot and broccoli, and it seems he prefers the latter. My question here is how much might be considered a ration in one day. Would you give them a variety per day or a different vegetable every day?

Also if they take a preference to one type of veg are you tempted to give this more frequently or keep trying to vary their diet even if they ignore the other veg?

Many thanks for your input !

I tend to give my guys one type of vegetable each day (just because it's easier). My guys have a preference for bok choy or broccoli over carrots or other veggies and simply to make sure they're eating enough veggies they do get their favourites more often. I still try to offer them variety though. :)

They will always have their favorites but a variety should be offered. I ussually buy the frozen bag of mixed garden veggies (peas, carrots, corn etc) and add whatever else I have in the fridge..broccolli, peppers, etc. On a plate let the veggies get to room temp and add whatever else you have. I leave the plate in their cage for the entire time that I am at work and remove it when I get home.. :)
